The court held that service of the writ and statement of claim on the 1st defendant-company at its registered address (via GMA Corporate office) was proper and the resulting JID was regular; because contemporaneous letters signed by the company's chairman acknowledged indebtedness and proposed instalments, the 1st defendant-company had no triable defence and its appeal to set aside the JID failed.
