Reading s 177 purposively and harmoniously with the Sarawak Land Code ss 113,115,218, the Sarawak Estates Ordinance ss 4,15,17 and Civil Law Act s 8(1), an administrator is deemed to be the registered proprietor for purposes of s 177 and therefore has locus standi to apply to remove a caveat; appeal allowed and lower courts' orders set aside.
