The recusal applications failed because the Defendants did not satisfy the high 'real danger of bias' threshold: the judge's requests for clarification, references to authorities and acceptance of counsel's undertakings were normal judicial functions, the undertaking to regularise un-affirmed affidavits was given and complied with, and the applications were frivolous and bordered on contempt; therefore recusal was unjustified and costs awarded.
