A woman who becomes pregnant due to a failed sterilisation suffers a physical "personal injury" within s26 caused by medical misadventure and thus has ACC cover under s20(2)(b); consequential physiological impacts of pregnancy are covered under s20(2)(f)/(g); accordingly the appeal is allowed and the High Court question is answered "yes" (ACC cover applies).
