On the balance of probabilities the Court accepted the treating surgeon's diagnosis that the 13 July 2000 fall caused a PCL rupture and that the abnormal joint mechanics from that rupture materially accelerated osteoarthritis in the right knee, which required the 2013 knee replacement; accordingly ACC is liable to fund the surgery because the condition arose from the covered injury.
