On the balance of probabilities the evidence (history of prior and recurrent sprains including a significant 2014 inversion, imaging showing increased uptake and signal change at the os naviculare synchondrosis, and the treating surgeon's opinion identifying a sprain of the synchondrosis) established that the pathology requiring surgery was caused by the claimant's covered injuries; accordingly ACC's decision to decline funding was quashed.
