The attack was a sustained, extremely violent assault causing unsurvivable injuries, followed by callous failure to assist, concealment of the body and deception; these facts satisfy the 'high level' brutality/callousness in s104(1)(e) (while s104(1)(g) was not satisfied), so the statutory minimum of 17 years before parole eligibility must be imposed; concurrent sentence of two years two months for injuring with intent was appropriate.
