The High Court dismissed the appeal: the District Court did not err in adopting a starting point of 2 years 9 months, the seven month uplift for extensive prior similar offending was proportionate, no additional discount for primary caregiver status or reparation was warranted given continued offending and absence of an offer of reparation, and the resulting sentence of two years six months' imprisonment is not manifestly excessive.
