Raddock v Accident Compensation Corporation (Liability to pay cost of treatment)

- District Court
The Corporation correctly applied clause 2 Schedule 1 by considering the nature and severity of the covered injury, the generally accepted treatments in New Zealand, available alternatives, and cost/benefit including PTAC and Medsafe guidance; the claimant's self‑funded short, low‑dose trial produced transient symptom relief only and did not establish sustainable functional rehabilitation outcomes, so Sativex was not shown to be necessary and appropriate and funding was rightly declined.
