When a termination notice comes into effect a licensee's rights to use the licensed land are confined to what is necessary to protect, manage, harvest and process the tree crop on that land; use of improvements (roads, tracks, accessways) that requires use of subjacent licensed land is therefore restricted to those same purposes and, where no longer required, such improvements are returnable and will vest in the proprietors under s17 and clause 16.7; ownership of improvements does not confer independent rights of support or other proprietary rights in the land.
