- Court of Appeal
Extension of time to file the notice of appeal was granted but the substantive threshold for admitting evidence or ordering further investigations into alleged juror misconduct was not met due to material weaknesses and inconsistencies in the evidence, the improbability of the alleged prison confession, indications of possible pre-existing sympathy or collusion, and the public interest in protecting jury deliberation confidentiality; therefore no further investigation and the appeal against conviction was dismissed.
