The Court allowed the appeal, quashed the Court Martial sentence and substituted a reduction in rank to lieutenant with three years seniority and a severe reprimand; the Court made orders prohibiting publication of the appellant's and witnesses' identities and prohibiting publication of evidence and submissions relating to the reasons for those suppression orders under s 145 Armed Forces Discipline Act 1971 and ss 200, 202 and 205 Criminal Procedure Act 2011.
