On the balance of probabilities the medical and radiological evidence (notably ultrasound features and absence of cortical pitting) supported an acute traumatic origin for the extensor tendon tear arising from the 27 June 2008 event, therefore the repair surgery was treatment for the covered injury and ACC is liable to meet its cost under Schedule 1 Clause 1.
