The Court has power under ss184-185 of the Evidence Act 2006 to give effect to a foreign Letter of Request for taking evidence where the request is from a foreign court, the statutory requirements are satisfied and the evidence relates to civil proceedings; those conditions were satisfied here and the Court granted orders appointing the Registrar as Examiner and setting procedures for examination, interpretation, transcription and certification.
