The Court was satisfied the s184 threshold was met and that an order under s185(1) was appropriate; it granted the Solicitor‑General permission to commence by originating application and made a detailed order appointing the Registrar as Examiner to take sworn oral evidence of the named witness in Christchurch, to record, certify and provide copies, and to provide for witness expenses under s185(6).
