The court found that statutory prerequisites were satisfied, the assessor's report and offending history established a pervasive pattern of serious sexual offending and a high risk of reoffending, and that an extended supervision order for the maximum 10-year term from expiry of sentence was necessary to protect the community; accordingly the order was made with the respondent's consent.
