Given the appellant's active and central role in importing material capable of producing very large quantities of methamphetamine, the modest starting points adopted and application of a limited personal discount and a 20% guilty plea reduction produced an end sentence of 14 years' imprisonment with a 50% minimum term (seven years), which was not manifestly excessive and was appropriate to achieve denunciation and deterrence.
