Starting point of three years nine months imprisonment adopted for money laundering given substantial value laundered; uplift of 12 months for additional charges produced four years nine months, from which discounts for guilty plea, time on EM bail, age and terminal illness reduced the sentence by 29 months to two years four months; court exercised merciful discretion to further reduce by four months to two years total so the sentence could be converted to 12 months home detention, having regard to terminal illness, lack of personal benefit and EM bail burdens.
