The judge found a number of aggravating factors (taking a vulnerable frightened young woman, supplying cannabis to her, taking her on a journey linked to intended further criminality, leaving her at a place with alleged gang connection) which justified increasing the starting point above the Crown's proposal to eight months imprisonment for the principal supply offence; the offender's lengthy criminal history was noted but not used to further uplift the starting point; concurrent sentences were imposed and a suppression order made for the young person's identity.
