The judge accepted the CAP's assessment that, on the balance of the evidence, the iliotibial band condition resulted from a gradual overuse process and pre-existing tendency related to cycling rather than the 11 April 2015 accident; therefore the condition was not a covered injury and ACC's decision to decline funding for the proposed surgery was upheld.
