The court was satisfied that the extensive, targeted enquiries conducted by a qualified genealogy researcher (including social media, multiple public databases, electoral roll, alumni and expatriate contacts and 80+ hours of investigation) amounted to 'reasonable measures' under s136(2)(a); at least 60 days had passed since those measures; and no potential beneficiary had come to the trustee's attention—therefore an order authorising distribution as if the missing beneficiary predeceased the testator was appropriate.
