Under r 8(3)(d) of the Senior Courts (Access to Court Documents) Rules 2017 Dr Greg Young is entitled to access Woolford J's sentencing notes for M Pandey-Johnson; the applicant demonstrated a professional need, provided prisoner consent, and agreed to abide by conditions, so access is permitted.

The applicant is entitled to access the permanent court record for the 1946 Supreme Court file, including the sentencing notes; the Registrar may provide a copy and levy a reasonable copying charge.

The warrants of commitment and judges' sentencing notes plainly show the three-year sentence was ordered cumulative on the existing 4.5-year term, the warrants are properly signed and therefore the detention is lawful; consequently the habeas corpus application is dismissed.
