Defendant was leader of a large, sophisticated, enduring and profitable drug syndicate involving very large quantities of methamphetamine (and other drugs); his role, scale, duration and proceeds make the offending within the most serious cases warranting life imprisonment; personal mitigation did not sufficiently reduce culpability; non-parole period defaults to 10 years by statute for life sentences (no higher minimum period available other than for murder).
