Section 442(2)(a) requires deducting the prior lump sum percentage from the current whole-person impairment to produce a residual percentage which is then applied directly to the Schedule 1 table; because the residual here is 5% which is below the 10% threshold for any table rate, no Independence Allowance is payable and the appeal is dismissed.
