The applications were dismissed: the extension of time for leave to appeal against conviction was refused because the delay was inadequately explained and, in any event, nothing raised undermined the jury's verdict or showed a miscarriage of justice; the application for leave to appeal sentence was dismissed because the re-sentencing was favourable and not an appropriate vehicle for challenge and the high threshold for a direct appeal to the Supreme Court was not met.
