Starting point set at five and a half years' imprisonment for aggravated burglary with accidental firearm discharge; deductions totalling 25 months for youth, cultural factors and rehabilitation, eight months for compliance on bail, and a 25% reduction for early guilty plea yielded an overall sentence that is best met by an 11 month home detention term combined with 200 hours community work and reparation of $330, with fines remitted; home detention with conditions was the least restrictive but adequate response to the offending.
