Section 142 of the 1992 Act unambiguously limited continuation of earnings related compensation for persons in the transitional cohort to the close of 30 June 1997 (or earlier if it would have ceased under the 1972 or 1982 Acts); therefore the Corporation correctly ceased payments on that date and prior administrative communications could not lawfully extend the entitlement.
