The High Court held Judge Phillips did not err: treating the assault as involving an element of home invasion was open on the facts; a four month uplift for prior violent convictions and a 15% overall guilty plea discount were within judicial discretion; the 20 month starting point and resulting two year component sentence for the Alexandra assault were within range in the context of multiple offending; and the overall effective sentence of three years and seven months was not manifestly excessive, so the appeal is dismissed.
