The High Court lacks jurisdiction to hear an appeal against a District Court Judge's review under s106F of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957; neither s124 District Court Act 2016 nor s237 Criminal Procedure Act 2011 provide a basis for such an appeal; appeal dismissed for want of jurisdiction.

The Court has no jurisdiction to grant leave because the informations were laid before the Criminal Procedure Act 2011 and s144 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957 requires a prior High Court appeal (or leave) on a question of law; no such appeal occurred and the High Court declined the extension of time, and the proposed appeal does not raise a question of law of general or public importance.

Because the Registry demonstrated repeated and reasonable efforts to obtain submissions and contact the appellant and the appellant failed to prosecute the appeal or respond, the appeal was properly struck out for want of prosecution.
