The Court set aside the specified High Court remedial orders (paras 2.1 and 2.2 as modified) except for orders relating to passwords; it allowed the Attorney-General to issue new s49 directions but remitted the question of releasing police from confidentiality undertakings over encryption passwords to the High Court for further evidence and submissions because the scope of s5 MACMA and factual matters required further consideration.
