The Court concluded that, on the material before it and given the imminent demolition, the statutory threshold of reasonable necessity to preserve the applicant's position was met and it was appropriate to exercise the Court's discretion to grant an interim prohibition on demolition until the on-notice hearing on 21 January 2020; the balance of convenience favoured a short preservation of the status quo subject to conditions (an undertaking as to damages) because there was a real contest and a reasonable chance of success on the merits that required fuller argument.
