Qi Huang was joined by consent; the tailored discovery order of 9 July 2014 was limited to documents available in New Zealand and did not obligate the plaintiff to obtain documents located in China; the plaintiff's affidavit of documents was sparse and non-compliant in detail but, given explanatory communications and lack of evidence of wilful disobedience, did not constitute contempt; the plaintiff must file a further affidavit identifying documents not available in New Zealand, steps taken to locate them and, if known, their whereabouts within 15 working days.
