Medical evidence overwhelmingly established two separate and distinct back strain events with an intervening pain-free period and no specific accident in February 2000; consequently ACC was correct to refuse to extend cover as the February 2000 condition was not shown to be a continuation of the November 1997 accepted injury and did not constitute a personal injury by accident under the Act.
