The court held the claimed $6,800 plus GST was unreasonable because the substitution and joinder were routine, caused no prejudice, similar joinders incurred substantially lower costs ($500–$1,860), and the plaintiff had prior written confirmation of no prejudice; accordingly the court awarded $2,000 plus GST as reasonable costs and declined to order speculative future amendment costs, reserving the issue if circumstances change.
