Defendants were custodians of significant criminal proceeds and were wilfully blind to their origin; culpability was assessed at the lower rungs of participation. Parao's starting point fixed at 2 years 3 months reduced for plea to an end sentence of 20 months but, on mitigation and assessment of risk and personal circumstances, imposed 10 months home detention. Samuels assessed marginally less culpable with a starting point of 2 years 1 month, reduced for plea and personal mitigation to 19 months but sentenced to 9 months home detention.
