The medical records and imaging demonstrated degenerative changes and no ongoing disability traceable to the 1983 or 1995 injuries; the treating surgeon (Mr Barnes) could not identify a causal link between those past injuries and the current L4/5 disc protrusion and agreed the condition is due to disease/ageing; on that basis the Corporation's refusal to fund surgery was correct and the appeal is dismissed.
