The preferred approach is to convert the imprisonment starting point to home detention before allowing credit for time spent on remand; although the sentencing Judge erred in the timing and calculation of remand credit in this case, the end sentence of four months' home detention was not manifestly excessive in all the circumstances and the appeal is dismissed.
