The financing statement was invalid because it omitted the company's incorporation number required by s142(1)(c) and misclassified the debtor as "other" rather than a company; those defects were seriously misleading under ss149–151 when read with s172 because searches by incorporation number or via the Companies Office would not disclose the registration, and therefore the declaration of validity was refused (the misspelling of "N Z" was not seriously misleading).
