Judge held that, considering the aggravating features (multiple rapes and other sexual offending, abuse of trust, victim vulnerability and grooming) and the existing 2017 sentence, the appropriate aggregate sentence for all CYFS and related offending is 21 years; the new convictions attract concurrent terms which run from today but, because the existing 19-year sentence runs from 24 June 2016, the practical effect is a two-year extension of the expiry date to produce an effective aggregate of 21 years while retaining the previously imposed minimum period of imprisonment of 10 years; a separat…
