The Registrar correctly refused to accept filing in Christchurch because r 5.1(1) makes Wellington the proper registry given the defendants' residence/work there; r 5.1(5) cannot be used by the plaintiff alone to justify filing elsewhere and potential judicial conflict is addressed by judge assignment rather than changing registry.
