The Court held the Committee had jurisdiction and the appeal was dismissed: s100(1)(a) applies to a registered practitioner even if not actively practising because registration imports ongoing obligations (including confidentiality) and wrongful disclosure can amount to malpractice; s100(1)(b) must be read to refer to the profession on whose register the practitioner sits and therefore can cover conduct by a registered non‑practising person that brings discredit to that profession.
