Extension of time granted but leave to appeal dismissed because the Court of Appeal correctly applied the apparent bias test to the facts, there was no reasonable apprehension of bias by the retired police juror, no error of law identified that raises a matter of general or public importance, and nothing before the Court suggested the verdict was infected by bias.

The Juries Act 1981's disqualification provisions are confined to New Zealand convictions and do not apply to overseas sentences; no other s22 grounds established, therefore the court lacked jurisdiction to discharge the juror and the application to discharge was refused.
