Clause 17 is a condition subsequent requiring the defendant to obtain legal advice that explains the effects and implications of the settlement before he may validly give notice terminating it; because the defendant did not receive such legal advice (his Community Law meeting did not amount to the required advice and he admitted no legal advice was given), his 29 March 2017 notice was ineffective and the settlement agreement remains in force.
