- High Court
Contempt was established by persistent, serious and at times blatant defiance of the 2 October 2017 ancillary orders to disclose bank and credit card statements; deterrence, support for liquidators and maintenance of the rule of law required a substantial penalty. The court imposed a $10,000 fine (split $5,000 to plaintiff, $5,000 to Crown), awarded costs of $20,000 to the plaintiff, and ordered conditional imprisonment of 20 days if amounts not paid within 30 working days, with further enforcement directions if unpaid.
