The application for an extension was declined because the appellant failed to provide adequate, corroborated reasons for delay or for inability to secure representation, had ample opportunity over more than ten months to obtain counsel, remained in default of her obligation to pay security for costs which precluded allocation of a fixture, and the period to seek extension in respect of a fixture had lapsed; accordingly the appeal is treated as abandoned under r 43(1).
