Dr Mason's assessment was thorough and conducted in accordance with the AMA Guides, was confirmed by respondent medical advisors, and in the absence of cogent medical evidence disproving it the Court found the net whole person impairment to be below the statutory 10% threshold, so the refusal of an independence allowance was correct and the appeal was dismissed.
