Because the two offences were different in kind and occurred at different times the Court imposed cumulative sentences. Starting points of 18 months (attempting to prevent the course of justice) and 15 months (failing to stop) were adopted, each reduced substantially for youth, good character and remorse and adjusted for totality, producing final custodial equivalents of 9 and 7 months respectively.
