Where a child's life or long‑term health depends on medical treatment that will require blood transfusion and the parents refuse consent on religious grounds, the Court may, if it is satisfied the orders are in the child's best interests, place the child under the guardianship of the Court and appoint agents to consent to the necessary treatment; here the imminent risk of death and substantial chance of successful transplant justified making the orders sought.
