The Court held that Dodson's CAD/manufacturing drawings and resulting parts were original works in which copyright subsisted; Dodson owned the copyright as commissioner; GRD/Gray and Logiical/Hannaford infringed that copyright (GRD primary, Gray authorised, Logiical secondary, Hannaford jointly liable); damages were awarded under the user principle with uplift for commercial impact plus s121 additional damages for flagrancy; Fair Trading Act breaches found against Logiical and Hannaford in limited respects; breach of confidence proven against GRD and Gray; conspiracy claim dismissed.
