A court may, under s 93 of the Sentencing Act 2002, authorise a power of search to be conferred on a probation officer where the condition is designed to reduce the offender's risk of reoffending and is tailored, reasonably necessary and proportionate; on the facts the special conditions challenged were within the statutory discretion and the appeal is dismissed.
